Here is another clip from the 1995 House Committee Hearing on Technology in Education. In this clip Chris Dede adds fuel to the fire Seymour Papert started by indicating systemic barriers to school change, specifically school change in response to technological innovations, including parent & community concept of school, and the general belief that learning happens in a top-down approach with teachers delivering content to students in classrooms while ignoring the fact that most people learn best by doing. Enjoy!

I like the way that he challenges that learning needs to be extended outside of the 4 walls of the classroom and should spill over into every other area of student life and community.
