Illich proposes we build a system of computer matching to match learners who desire other learners with the same interests to meet, discuss, and learn together. Sounds like computer dating.

Seems we are now at a point in the development of information technology to seriously revisit Illich's ideas about deschooling society. In many ways I think we are witnessing it happening right before our eyes online.

YES! I agree completely with this, I always have but have never really had the right words to say it. Objectives smogjectives, what we need to focus on more is the "third teacher" and the experiences we make available.

I find this to be a fascinating argument against compulsory schooling. I had never thought of it this way before.
